Social

NUIG Kayak Club is well known for its social side of things

We have many events running throughout the year to cater for those who enjoy hanging out rather than shooting the lines on the lower or those who like both.

Wednesday Night Talks

Wednesday nights is the clubs weekly social event. The committee schedule some sort event for every Wednesday, generally these are in the form of a presentation on some aspect of our sport. These talks are ususally hosted by guest speakers, from former member of the club to some of Ireland’s most experienced paddlers. These talks are specifically aimed at new members and encourages them to get to know senior members off the water, thats not to say senior members wont find the topics exciting and interesting. We head into town after the talk for the night.

Crib Crawl

The club’s favourite unofficial event, usually happens in each semester it involves a extended walk between houses with each participant providing a shot for everyone else. This will get messy.

Parties

The club has 3 main parties each year, Start of college, Christmas and a Summer party. Along with these there are always birthdays and random house parties.

Mystery Tour

Last year saw the inclusion of a mystery tour into the clubs schedule. A mystery tour for those out of the loop is when everyone boards a bus and travels to a mystery destination somewhere in the country for a night of epic proportions.
