Name of Swimmer: Alan Herdman
Date: 16/10/13
Location: Clare Glens
Shitty excuse: I was just getting out of my boat to stretch my legs, but was unfortunate in my choice of spot in that it was an island in the middle of the river. My boat then proceeded to float off downstream without me in it. Its a funny little game we play.
Real reason for swim: Styled my line down one of the badass, difficult rapids, went off the drop beautifully... then gently drifted into a tree in the flat pool at the bottom.
Emotional Issues arising from the event: Fucking trees...
Persons requiring rescue pints: Barry for holding onto my boat while I was stuck, then chasing after it down the river.

I forgot I was due one of these...

Name of Swimmer: Ian O'Connor
Date: 16/10/13
Location: Big Eas, Glens
Shitty excuse: I was following Andrew... and everyone knows he's shit..

Real reason for swim: Got the lead in right (which is more than I managed last time).. then got caught the wrong side of the curler wave just before the top.. that brought me right into the chimney on river right of the falls where I got recirc'ed, I popped my deck almost instantly as soon as I knew Id fucked up but continued to get a good bit of downtime.

Emotional Issues arising from the event: Downtime is physically tiring.. as was pointed out later on that day 20-25secs without air is "not Ideal". But came away with a positive outlook! It wasnt as bad as it looked! :)

Persons requiring rescue pints: pff.. there were ropes and shouts coming from everywhere.. I think Mark got my paddles and I think Barry helped me out of the water..
Self praise is no praise... but it'll do me!

Name of Swimmer: Aran Kilroy
Date: 16/10/13
Location: Clare Glens

Shitty excuse: Something something something glitch in the matrix.

Real reason for swim: Had my best line of the through the run in to Big Eas of the day until the curler just at the top of the drop. Didn't punch it and got pushed too far right and went down the chimney. Penciled the drop and got pushed against a wall. Tried rolling a few times before giving up and popping out.

Emotional Issues arising from the event: Second time getting pushed against a wall has made me swim so I'm a bit annoyed at that but after watching Ian come down exactly where I did about 15 sec later and get down time I felt pretty lucky.

Persons requiring rescue pints: Barry pulled my boat out.

Swim bootie was done on the dancefloor Friday night in Donegal.

Name of Swimmer: William Hurley
Date: 17/11/13
Location: Below top drop, Boluisce

Shitty excuse: I fell

Real reason for swim: Just went down top drop styling the line, however the V wave at the end of top drop imploded my deck, i got pushed against a wall and boat went into a bit of a undercut capsized and just hopped out of the boat. Oh and never celebrate after top drop, remember kids PLF.

Emotional Issues arising from the event: Was pretty excited running top drop but that swim just felt like dropping the soap in a prison shower ;-(

Persons requiring rescue pints: Cathal Kelly brought my boat into an eddy, Thanks ya big kerryman :-)

Top drop strikes again.

Name of Swimmer: Mark McNally
Date: 17/11/13
Location: Below top drop, Boluisce

Shitty excuse: Didn't have a great line down it, the nose of my boat went straight into a rock near the bottom and I got flipped. Couldn't roll at first because I was pushed against the wall. Then started going downstream upside down but got stuck on my back deck because it's really shallow so I couldn't roll up, then I bailed.

Real reason for swim: It was a very warm November day and I needed to cool down.

Emotional Issues arising from the event: This now puts the score at Top Drop 3, Mark 1

Persons requiring rescue pints: Swam in with my paddles, not sure who the person who got my boat was.

Guess I should start here

Name of Swimmer: Conor Hickey
Date: 17/11/13
Location: Foot Bridge, Boluisce

Shitty excuse: Got my paddle caught on the bridge and flipped me over loosing the paddle, got the paddle back but couldn't set up for a roll right, saw Higgins and waited for a t-rescue but smashed my head against a rock so I pulled my deck.

Real reason for swim: Didnt keep my paddle straight under the bridge and couldn't take a hit to the head.

Emotional Issues arising from the event: Dislike for rocks and a sore head and arse(raped by a rock)

Persons requiring rescue pints: Higgins saved me and some randomner got my boat after it was pinned in the rock garden

Location: Poll Gorm, Boluisce

Shitty excuse: Got back flipped coming off Poll Gorm , ended in shallow water and could roll.

Real reason: Flipped on Poll Gorm, panicked and fucked up roll.

Emotion issues arising from swim: busted hand and a fear of rocks.

Person required rescue pint: Ian roped me , not sure oh got my boat.

Name of Swimmer: Erin Fingleton
Date: 17/11/13
Location: Boulisce, top section
Shitty excuse: A rock started a fight with my boat so I said I'd hop out & finish the job before anymore crude words were spoken.
Real reason for swim: I plain & simply fucked up. Something something hit a rock capsized & couldn't roll.
Emotional Issues arising from the event: Slight lack of confidence for the rest of the river but stuck with it.
Persons requiring rescue pints: John Staunton for his perfect aim rescuing me and I think Hurley for grabbing the boat after it had a lovely adventure down top dop.

Name of Swimmer: William Hurley
Date: 31/12/13
Location: Owengar below main waterfall
Shitty excuse: ran the waterfall and came up upside down, i figured out that i lost my offside and my other side to roll was blocked by the wall, and i thought it would be good craic
Real reason for swim: I am too damn hot and needed to cool down
Emotional Issues arising from the event: sad that i lost my offside, but determined to get it back
Persons requiring rescue pints: self rescue bitches

Date: 30/12/13

Shitty excuse: Just because I love holes so much and felt like a bit of a swim on grade 5 (like who doesn't) :)
Real reason for swim: Messed up line and poor recovery
Emotional Issues arising from the event: Years and years of emotional agony!!! :tmi:
Persons requiring rescue pints: Barry
